As my sister joined me at the table, we discussed the incident, and we agreed that it had the making of a story idea. We couldn't help wanting to know more. Who was 'the Queen'? What did the cashier give the man? Who was the man? Was a crime involved? The many answers to these questions, and the vast number of their combinations spread before us, as we hypothesized all manner of plots, intrigues, and misdemeanors.
By the end of lunch, we had remembered dozens of other incidents that would generate many a story idea. In the end, we reasoned that there are story ideas all around us. Every single day. If only we care to look.
